William Edward Hawthorne

William Edward “Eddie” Hawthorne, 67, of Bagley’s Mill, VA joined his family in Heaven on August 28, 2023. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward S. and Mae Barnes Hawthorne; a brother Charles H. Hawthorne and nephews, Chris Wilson and Buddy Hawthorne. He is survived by his sister, Ginna H. Wilson (Bill Huskey); his brother, Richard Hawthorne (Barbara); special friends, Delores Ashworth and Johnny Coleman. Also surviving is a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Eddie graduated from Central high School in 1974. He retired from the maintenance department of the Mecklenburg County School System. He enjoyed fishing, hanging out with friends, blues music and playing with his dog Susie Q. A celebration of Eddie’s life will be held at 7Pm Friday, September 1, 2023 at the Clarke Funeral Home in Kenbridge.
