Vera Nolen Weaver of Senoia, GA passed away September 23, 2024. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Robert S. Weaver, III; her parents George Ross Nolen and Adeline Morrison Nolen; her stepmother, Geneva Nolen, sisters Anne Nolen Raiford and May Nolen Jordan, and her brother James A. Nolen. She is survived by her three children: The Rev. Elizabeth Libbey (The Rev. Robert Libbey) of Asheville, NC, Robert S. Weaver IV (Gloria) of Belhaven, NC and Brooke Ballew (Harley) of Senoia, Georgia where Vera lived her final years. Bob and Vera had six beloved grandchildren: Jennifer Roberts, Melanie Weaver, Josh Ballew, Jake Ballew Luke Ballew and Kayley Ballew. She is also survived by her sister Myrtle Nolen Wills and brother George Thomas Nolen. Vera and Bob were deeply committed Christians. They were fixtures at each of the Episcopal Churches they attended during their long and loving marriage. They most recently attended St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church of Miami, Florida. Vera loved her Lord, her husband, her children, her large extended family, home making, and her church and congregation. She was a prolific writer of letters, notes and cards to her family and the many friends she and Bob made during their long lives. A graveside service will be conducted by The Rev. Elizabeth Libbey Oct 12 at 1:00 PM. at Lakeview Cemetery in Victoria, Virginia. In the event of inclement weather the service will be held at Staples Funeral Home,. 2300 Nottaway Blvd. Victoria,Virginia 23974.
