Robert Leroy Anderton age 73, passed from this life to the next on January 20th, 2025. Robert (Bob) was preceded by his parents, James and Betty Anderton, and his wife, Joyce Redford. Bob is survived by two brothers James Anderton and Stan Anderton and a sister Betty Jo (BJ) Accuard; his children, David Plush, Michelle Mueller (Tim), Dwayne Jackson (Rita) and Jackee Jeffers; grandchildren, Victoria Leonard (Jason), Shelby Conner (CJ), Emily Jackson (Lacoby), and Alexis Jeffers; five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Bob was faithful. He was faithful to the Lord, consistently seeking and using his life to bring honor to God. He was a faithful husband, father, grandfather, and friend. There was nothing Bob wouldn’t do for someone in need, if he could do it, he did it. Bob was born in Portland, Oregon and throughout his life, lived in Oregon, Washington, California, and Virginia. He graduated from Franklin High school in Portland, Oregon. Bob was drafted into the army where he honorably served our country in Vietnam as an infantryman. Bob was active in Southside Emmaus, where he served as Community Lay Director in 2012, Walk Lay Director on Walk #87. He served on the board, and did many volunteer activities for Southside Emmaus. Bob was also a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) # 9954 Victoria, VA. Bob loved people by showing them the Love of God and how valuable they were both on earth and in the Kingdom of Heaven. That love has left a lasting impact on all that knew him. The family will receive guests for a memorial service at Staples Funeral Home located at 2300 Nottoway Blvd. Victoria, VA on Saturday, January 25th at 4:00pm. Everyone is also invited to his military rites service to be held on Monday, January 27th at 2:00pm at the Chapel of the Amelia Veterans Cemetery, located at 10300 Pridesville Rd. Amelia Court House, VA.
