Milton F. Smith

Milton Flonoid Smith, 85, of Kenbridge VA. joined his family in Heaven on April 12, 2025. He was the son of the late Samuel F. Smith and Virginia Epperson Smith and brother of the late Haynie “Bill” Smith, Robert Smith, James Smith, Florence Mayton, Inez Slaughter, Louise Smith, Laura Mae Ervin, Harvey Smith, Nat Thomas Smith and Anna Ruth Mayton. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Nancy M. Smith; his son Ray Smith (Jeanette) of Kenbridge; daughters, Shirley Winslow (John) of Blackstone, Brigette Ellis (Jason) of South Hill and Jeremy Smith of Kenbridge; grandchildren, James Thorpe, III (Danielle), Bennie Winslow, Lee Winslow, Starr Ellis (Molly), Cody Ellis, Ashton Smith (Kasey), Julie Smith, Destiny Smith, Elliebreysia Smith and Austin Smith; great-grandchildren, Kiera Thorpe, Collin Winslow, Gracelynn Smith, Eleanor Hamilton, Emersyn Hamilton, Coby Afonso, Skylar Afonso and Jude Williams. Milton grew up in Kenbridge and started his career with RO Gentry. He retired as Maintenance Supervisor for the Town of Kenbridge. He then worked at Walmart in Blackstone where he enjoyed working and getting to see friends and loved ones. He was named employee of the month many times. Milton also enjoyed the beach, fishing off Jeannette’s pier, and eating breakfast at the Dunes. He was always willing to help others. He attended Mercy Outreach Fellowship, 417 Church Street, Blackstone, Va. 23824, where the family will receive friends Wednesday, April 16, 2025 from 10am until start of services at 11.
