Luther Bernard Daniel, 82, of Victoria, VA passed away April 15, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents Elizabeth Orma Reebals Daniel and Loyd Benjamin Daniel; brother Everett Jacob Daniel; sisters Mary Elizabeth Baughan and Blanche Orma Eastwood; and, nephews Glenn Baughan and Thurman Eastwood, Jr. He is survived by his wife of 62 years Sarah “Josephine” Lacks Daniel; his daughter, Tracy Daniel; granddaughters Ashley and Autumn Queensberry; sister Virginia Frost (Ron) of Dundas; a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and fur babies Luna and Memphis. Luther grew up on a tobacco farm in Danieltown, VA. He graduated from Brunswick High School in 1961, where he also drove the school bus. He later worked at Bill’s Supermarket, and then for Brandon Silos, building block silos. He retired after 20 plus years of service with W.O. Grubb, where he was a mechanic, assembled and disassembled cranes on worksites, and was a topnotch troubleshooter. He was proud of his membership in the Local 147 Union. This September would have been 60 years. He was also a member of Macedonia United Methodist Church. He enjoyed playing cards with World Tavern Poker, laughing, and talking with family and friends. He will always be remembered for his dedication to his work and to his family. The family will receive friends at the Clarke Funeral Home in Kenbridge on Friday, April 18, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. until the start of services at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Victoria.
