Lewis Emmett Williams, Jr. 81 of Victoria, Va. passed peacefully, surrounded by family, on Dec. 8, 2022. He was the son of the late Lewis E. Williams and Grace Parrish Williams and brother of the late Elizabeth W. Gallion and uncle of the late Charles Vincent Callis. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Elizabeth C. “Betty” Williams; his sons L.E. Williams, III (Courtney) and Todd V. Williams (Amy) and his daughter, Hope W. Scott (Michael). He was “Po” to Cal, Sarah, Cara, Ben, Noah, Cole, Nate and Olivia. Also surviving are brothers-in-law, Charles Callis and Reggie Callis (Louise); nieces Kim Wilkerson (Rick) and Sallie Gigliotti (Anthony); nephew, Jay Callis (Chrissy); great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and many friends.
Emmett graduated from Victoria High School and played football for Chowan College. He served our country in the U.S. Air Force in the First Air Commando Wing. He retired as a Special Agent for the Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Board and was a former scoutmaster of Victoria Troop 7538. He enjoyed gardening, golfing, grilling, fishing and most of all hanging out with his grandchildren. Graveside services will be held 2 PM Sunday, Dec. 11, 2022 at the Antioch United Methodist Church Cemetery, 3311 South Hill Road, Kenbridge, Va. 23944.
