Kenneth Gale McDaniel

 It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Mr. Kenneth Gale McDaniel on February 29, 2024 at the age of 83. Kenneth passed away peacefully in his home in Kenbridge, VA. He was preceded in death by his parents Charlie Jennings McDaniel and Dorothy Vaughan McDaniel and his sister Peggy M Walker. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 57 years, Joyce; his daughter, Tracey (Eric Mahr); his sons, John (Lori) and Justin; his five grandchildren, Jack, Catherine, and Anna Mahr, Addison, and Braden McDaniel; his brother, Reverend Charles McDaniel (Faye), and his dear nieces and nephews. Kenneth graduated from Kenbridge High School and retired from MATES as a technician supervisor in the signal shop. He was a devout member of Antioch Methodist Church and dedicated many years to teaching Sunday school. He had a passion for woodworking and spent his spare time hand-crafting wooden replicas of the church, which he then lovingly gifted to family members. His commitment to the military extended to his 30 years of honorable service in the US Army and Virginia National Guard. Following his retirement, Kenneth enjoyed reading and he reveled in spending quality time with his family on his farm, where he also pursued his hobby of raising cattle. Funeral services will be held 2PM Saturday, March 2, 2024 at Antioch Methodist Church. (3489 South Hill Road, Kenbridge, VA.) Interment in the Church Cemetery with military rites. The family will receive friends for the hour prior to services and at all other times at the home. All friends and well-wishers are invited to join in honoring Kenneth.
