Joyce Elaine Hash Redford

Joyce Elaine Redford, 71, of Lunenburg, VA, born July 1, 1953 and went to be with the Lord on January 2, 2025. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Margaret Hash. She is survived in death by her husband, Robert Anderton; children, Dwayne Jackson (Rita), Jacqueline Jeffers, David Plush, Michelle Anderton (Tim); grandchildren, Victoria Leonard (Jason), Shelby Conner (CJ), Emily Jackson (Lacoby), Alexis Jeffers; Siblings Joanna McDaniel (Carl), Valerie Smith, Michael Hash (Brenda), Connie McGee (Steve), and several nieces and nephews. Joyce was a force to be reckoned with, she loved hard and did whatever she could for others. Her life has been a testament of the faithfulness of God which radiated when she helped others. Joyce was the president of the Chamber of Commerce in Nottoway as well as in Lunenburg, over the course of several years. She was the president of the Friends of the Library in Victoria and contributed to countless hours of community service, including Kairos for women, the State Workforce Competition, and Southside Emmaus. Joyce also ran for mayor in the town of Crewe, owned her own business, and was a licensed insurance agent. Joyce helped and served others whenever she could and supported needs when she couldn’t physically help. She left an incredible legacy; she loved Jesus and was unafraid to tell any and all about the love Jesus had for them. Joyce encompassed a heart to serve and make every community she was in, better. She didn’t shy away from getting her hands dirty and regardless of the level of leadership she held, she would ensure that the needs were met, even if it meant she did it on her own. She will be missed, but we rest assured knowing that we will see her again in Heaven. Her legacy, prayers, and efforts will be felt for generations to come. A Celebration of her Life will be held on January 18, 2025, at 1pm at Hope Chapel, 9611 Wayside Ave, Amelia Court House, VA 23002. Staples Funeral Home, Victoria, in charge of arrangements.
