John Earl Kesterson

John Earl Kesterson, born August 10, 1957, left this plane of existence on December 14, 2023. He is survived by his wife and best friend Sonia Kesterson; his sons, Miles Kesterson 26 years old and Samuel Kesterson 17 years old; his sister, Vicky Carnes, all of Victoria, Virginia and Bobbie Kesterson of Pine Bluff, Arkansas. John was preceded in death by his father Billy Denzel Kesterson; mother, Emma Sue Kesterson and a sister, Brenda McCurry of Pine Bluff Arkansas. He struck out from his home state of Arkansas in 1994 to head east and start a new career. He brought his long-time girlfriend with him. In Virginia, they committed themselves to each other and married in 1995. He was so enamored with Virginia that he wanted to plant roots and grow a new family tree. Those roots were planted on a piece of land just outside of Victoria, VA. children were born, a home was built and a life was well lived. The black and white picture started to be colored in. John never met a stranger and was full of wit and joy that he shared freely. Always with a tune, he whistled songs and always had a story to tell that would make you laugh. Friends and family will miss that smile and kindness he shared so freely. He was proud of completing the A&P program at the Spartan School of Aeronautics where he obtained an associate degree in Airframe and Powerplant licensure. He never got to use it but the knowledge he gained helped him be a successful millwright. A celebration of John's life will be held at his and Sonia's home on August 10, 2024 at 2PM, his birthday.
