James Harold Arthur

James Harold Arthur, 75, of Kenbridge, VA passed away March 1, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Eunice Arthur; brothers Hubert Franklin Arthur and his twin, Charles Edward Arthur. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Cynthia Mattox Arthur; son, James H. “Jamie” Arthur, Jr (Susan) of Blackstone; his daughter, Emily A. Williamson (Rolin); grandson, Judah Williamson all of Wilmington, NC and a brother Phil Arthur of Amelia. 

James grew up in Kenbridge and Blackstone. He honorably served our country in the United States Army and was the retired owner/operator of J and E Finishing. He enjoyed fishing; but, golf was his passion. He was a member of the Lunenburg Country Club where he won numerous invitational and member guest tournaments and was the 1988 and 2001 club champion. For many years he was on the Club’s Southside Team and in 2002 he was medalist of the Southside Tournament held at Briery Country Club in Farmville. He loved his family, playing golf and all animals. The family will receive friends Thursday, March 6, 2025 at the Clarke Funeral Home in Kenbridge from 10am until start of services at 11am. Graveside funeral services will be held the same day at 3pm at Gretna Buial Park, Gretna, VA.
