Henry Lewis Childress, Jr., 86, of Victoria, VA went to be with the Lord on September 19, 2024. He was the son of the late, Henry Lewis Childress and Alice Irby Childress and brother of the late, Kenneth Childress and Bobby Childress. He is survived by his devoted wife of 57 years Joanne Wilkins Childress; his sons, David Childress of Victoria and Brian Childress (Marybel) of Huntsville, Alabama; his grandchildren, Noah Childress, Liam Childress and Harper Childress; his sister, Doris St. Clair of Lunenburg; brothers, Jerry Childress (Shirley) of South Hill and Edward Childress (Linda) of Blackstone; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Henry honorably served our country in the United States Army. He enjoyed feeding the Squirrels, fishing and hunting in his younger days and most recently spending time with his grandchildren. He dearly loved his family. The Dallas Cowboys have lost their biggest fan. The family will receive friends Saturday, September 21, 2024 from 5 to 6:30 pm at the Staples Funeral Home in Victoria. Henry was a faithful member of the Tussekiah Baptist Church (3514 Crymes Road, Meherrin, Va) where funeral services will be held Sunday, September 22, 2024 at 2:30 PM.
