Harris Freeman Cox

Harris Freeman Cox, 87, of Dundas, Virginia joined his family in Heaven on January 11, 2025. He was preceded in death by a son, Michael H. Cox; his parents, Walter H. Cox and Nell Cox Thompson; and his brother, Madison Lane Cox. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Sue Daniel Cox; a son, Steve W. Cox of Crewe, VA; two grandchildren, Rebecca C. Daniel and Jeffrey M. Cox; 3 great-grandchildren, Raymond Brock, Katelyn Brock and Travis Hampton. Harris grew up in Dundas, VA. He was one of the first employees of Lea Industries in Kenbridge, a career lasting 19 years. He started as a machine operator and later moved into the maintenance department. He also worked in the maintenance department at Fort Lee for 9 years. Harris enjoyed keeping a clean farm, gardening and spending time with his family. He was a member of Perseverance Christian Church. The family will receive friends at the Clarke Funeral Home in Kenbridge on Thursday, January 16, 2025 from 1PM until the start of services at 2PM.
