Esther Peebles Harris

Esther Peebles Harris, 90, of Dundas, VA joined her family in Heaven on January 16, 2025. She was the daughter of the late, Sidney Watson Peebles and Mildred Freeman Peebles; wife of the late, Linwood Lewis Harris, Sr.; mother of the late Daniel Everette “Punk” Harris and Calvin Watson “Monk” Harris; and sister of the late, Sidney W. Peebles, Jr., John Frederick Peebles, Ruby P. McClellan, Florence P. Crowder, Katherine P. Grant and Jane P. Smith. She is survived by her daughter, Faye H. Davis of Chesterfield; two sons, Linwood “Bubba” Harris, Jr. (Angie) of South Hill and Charles “Squeaky” Harris of Dundas; Monk’s wife Tammy of Dundas and Punks wife Angie of Kenbridge; 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Virginia P. Matthews of Kenbridge and Pearl P. Williams of McKenney, VA. Esther grew up in Rawlings Va and graduated from Alberta High School. She grew up on a tobacco farm and married a tobacco farmer. She knew what work was. She enjoyed cooking, working on the farm, listening to Conway Twitty and spending time with her family. She was a member of Dundas Baptist Church. The family would like to send a special thank you to the staff at Heritage Hall, Blackstone, for their loving care, especially Cynthia Taylor, N.P. The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at the Clarke Funeral Home in Kenbridge from 10am until start of services at 11am.
