Earl Wayne Roark, 83, of South Hill, Virginia went to be with the Lord on January 17, 2024.He was preceded in death by his son, Roger Wayne Roark; his parents, Jesse Lincoln Roark and Myrtle Wray Roark; three brothers and three sisters. He is survived by his best friend and wife of 59 years, Jinnie Lacks “Sue” Roark; his daughters, Teresa Roark of South Hill and Angie Strickland (Bryan) of Victoria; his grandchildren, Roger Lee Roark, Mary Roark, Michael Barton, Tabitha Strickland, Earl Thomas Barton, Ashley Ard, Bryan T. Strickland and Tiffany Strickland; great-grandchildren, Zackery, Addison, Gracie. Levi and Alana; his sisters, Nancy “Maxine” Smith (Milton) of Kenbridge, Myrtle Louise Hancock of Fredricksburg and Betty Roark of Appomattox; his brothers, Clarence Roark (Sue) of Crewe and Thurman Roark of Appomattox; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Earl worked on the Road Crew for WW Walsingham of Crewe, Virginia. He was proud of the many bridges and roads they built during his time there. He later was a contract carrier for the Richmond Times Dispatch. He enjoyed working on cars, watching the news, preaching, wrestling and westerns on TV. He will always be remembered for the love he had for his family. The family will receive friends Saturday, January 20, 2024 from 4 to 6PM at the Victoria Church of God, where funeral services will be held Sunday January 21, 2024 at 1PM. Interment in the Lakeview Cemetery, Victoria, The family wishes to thank Amedysis Hospice for there love and support, especially Cameron, Tammy, Ashley and LaToya.
