Donald Wayne Hardy, 85, of Lunenburg, VA went to be with the Lord on November 6, 2024. He was the husband of the late Angie Crowley Hardy; father of the late, Debora Hardy; step-father of the late Dougie Warthan; he was the son of the late Theodore Benjamin Hardy and Edith Fuqua Hardy and brother of the late, Edith Carroll Morgan, Harold Hardy, Keith Hardy and Earl Hardy. He is survived by his daughters, Barbara Hardy-Wilson of Clarksville, VA and Melba Willhite of South Boston, VA; his grandsons, Brian Wilson, Scott Jones and Joey Jones; 8 great-grandchildren; the mother of his children and devoted friend, Shirley Crump Morgan of Chase City; special nephew, Harold Page Hardy, Jr (Donna) of Chesterfield; his step-children Donnie Warthan (Kathy), Debbie Skinner (Gary) and Darlene Dix (Wayne); extended family and friends. Don grew up in Lunenburg County and graduated from Victoria High School and received his teacher’s certificate from VPI. He taught building and trades for the Mecklenburg County and Lunenburg County Public Shools for over 33 years. He dearly loved all of his students and was grateful to be able to have an impact on a child’s life. He also owned and operated the Country Upholstery and Woodworking Shop. He will always be remembered for his craftsmanship and attention to detail. He also owned the Country Kitchen Restaurant in Victoria. He enjoyed traveling, raising a garden and visiting with family and friends. You could consider yourself blessed if you ever received one of his signature pound cakes. The family would like to give a special Thank You to all his loving caregivers, Linda Wallace, Lillian Maddox, Anne Kyle, Missy Lawson, Misty Carnes, Dorothy Meade and Joyce Pruitt and also Deborah Craven with Lunenburg Health Services.
