Dolores Cothran Kennedy, 66, of South Hill, VA, born November 3, 1957 passed September 11, 2024. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Vaughan Cothran; her parents, Richard E. Williams and Vanie Daniel Williams and her brother, Richard Eugene Williams. She is survived by her son, Shawn Cothran of South Hill and daughter, Ashley Cothran of Victoria; her grandchildren, Tyler Cothran (Jessica), Karlee Cothran, and Hunter Cothran; two precious great grandchildren, Dustin and Preston Cothran; her sister, Linda Shotwell (Richard) of Rock Hill, S.C.; niece Dana Simmons (Mike) of York, S.C; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Cothran. A very special thank you to someone dear to her heart, Steve Newcomb, who has been by her side for 12 years. She was a long-time member of the Victoria Christian Church where she served as a deaconess and as a former Sunday school teacher. Dolores enjoyed hosting fifth Sunday luncheons, reading and her pets, especially her faithful dog Bear of 16 years. Dolores’s passion was working at LCPS for 28 years with special needs children. The family will receive friends Saturday, September 14, 2024, at the Victoria Christian Church from 10:30 am until start of services at 11:30 am. Interment to follow at the Lakeview Cemetery, Victoria, VA. In lieu of flowers please consider donations to the Victoria Christian Church, P.O.
