Catherine Amos Gilley

Catherine “Cathy” Amos Gilley, 66, of Kenbridge, VA joined her family in Heaven on July 30, 2024. She was the mother of the late Thomas “Tom” Alvin Moore; daughter of the late, Everett Alvin Amos and Elizabeth Joseph Amos; and aunt of the late William Joseph Amos. She is survived by her daughter, Tyler Moore; her sister, Joan Gentry (Michael); her brothers, Everett “Peppy” Amos, Jr. (Lee) and Stephen Amos (Nikki); 4 nephews, 1 niece, a great-niece and a great-nephew; extended family and friends. Cathy graduated from Central High School and received her associates degree from Chowan College. In 1983 she returned home to work in the family business (Big “T” now Sundae’s Restaurant) of which she became the owner and ran for over 40 years. Outside of work Cathy enjoyed music and playing the piano. She was a former member of the Kenbridge Town Council. She loved all animals especially her dogs, Brooks and Pebbles. The family will receive friends Friday, August 2, 2024 from 6:30 to 8PM at the Clarke Funeral Home in Kenbridge. Cathy was a member of the St. Paul and St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Kenbridge where funeral services will be held 3PM Saturday, August 3, 2024. Interment to follow in the Kenbridge Cemetery.
