Alford Roby Brown

Alford Roby Brown, 88, of Kenbridge, VA joined his family in Heaven on September 26, 2024. He was the son of the late Irving Preston Brown and Ada Baisey Brown; and brother of the late Bernard P. Brown, Dorothy B. Tanner, Irving G. “Pop” Brown, Mary B. Tanner, Mildred B. “Peggy” Gee and Thomas Albert “Tib” Brown. Roby is survived by a brother, Oscar Wallace Brown; devoted niece, Mildred G. “Millie” Watson and many other nieces and nephews. He graduated from Kenbridge High School and was a member of Perseverance Christian Church. He honorably served our country in the U.S. Army. He retired from Ken Lea Furniture in Kenbridge as a service manager. Roby’s passion was golf. He won the Lunenburg Country Club’s Club Championship several times, and for many years he proudly represented the Lunenburg Country Club in the River Cup and in the Southside Tournament of which they won many victories.
